My interview with legendary jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval for Smooth Jazz magazine – Jan, 1, 2015

01 Jan

The 2013 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom award, and a protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Sandoval was born in Artemisa, a small town in the outskirts of Havana, Cuba, on November 6, 1949, just two years after Gillespie became the first musician to bring Latin influences into American Jazz. Arturo SandovalHe has since evolved into one of the world’s foremost-acknowledged guardians of jazz trumpet and flugelhorn, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer.

I caught up with Arturo Sandoval for a lesson (or two) in music and life. Read it here: http://www.smoothjazzmag.com/information.php?information_id=543

Wishing you all the best in 2015!

Much love… Tracey
